- Chief Daddy 2
With Chief Daddy’s estranged daughter Laila suddenly appearing and bankrupting the entire Beecroft family, ‘Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke’ takes off where the first film left off. The three-year gap between ‘Chief Daddy 1′ and ‘Chief Daddy 2: Going for broke’ allowed the creators to perform additional research and polish the film to meet fans’ insatiable appetite for premium entertainment.
- Kambili
This film was co-produced by FilmOne Entertainment, Empire Entertainment, and Huahua Media. FilmOne worked with South African and Chinese producers for the first time. But the film project was scheduled to be FilmOne Entertainment’s maiden production endeavor with filmmaker Kayode Kasum. The film’s entire cast and crew were apparently under the age of 35. Throughout the filming, the color green was prominent.
- Black Rose
Black Rose depicts a family striving to put food on the table. Ebere Okaro becomes the family’s sole breadwinner after her husband dies. The widowed matriarch is surrounded by her four irritated children. Her two younger sons regularly avoid getting expelled from school for non-payment of fees. Her first child, Ugo, has walked the streets to ‘get what she wants’. A huge source of strength for her is her second daughter Rose. This goes on until one day a young man named Blossom Chukwujekwu enters their lives and looks to be the answer to their prayers. He is the true devil disguised.
- Rattle Snake
Amaka Igwe’s 1995 Nollywood crime thriller Rattlesnake, based on a true-life tale, is the inspiration for The Ahanna Story. Once again, Breaking Free’s Nicole Asinugo serves as screenwriter; Nouah directs and co-writes with Asinugo. Ahanna is played by Stan Nze, who is joined by Bucci Franklin, Osas Ighodaro, Efa Iwara, and Emeka Nwagbaraocha in the supporting cast. Top actors and actresses from Nollywood such as Chiwetalu Agu and Ejike Asiegbu feature in the film, as do Sonny McDon, Nobert Young, Gloria Young, and Chinyere Wilfred.
- Amina
Amina is a feature film produced by teams from Africa, Europe, and America. The period drama had a linear narrative. This means that the events are mostly told in chronological order. In short, the plot starts in the 16th century, when the young Queen ruled the Zazzau empire. The movie is action-packed and chronicles the remarkable lives and times of Amina, a young and fierce warrior princess. Despite being born within a chauvinistic environment, she conquered the Zazzau empire and became Nigeria’s first female Sarki.
- King of Boys
King of Boys, Kemi Adetiba’s 2017 box office smash, still trends in 2022. Following the film’s huge popularity, Netflix ordered a seven-part limited series, its first from Nigeria. The tiny screen is better suited to Adetiba’s love of soap opera extravagance and the scope of her plot. The original film was 169 minutes long. The story of Eniola Salami, the film’s protagonist, was a study in the degradation of absolute power. Sola Sobowale’s flamboyant criminal boss has now become a fan favorite.
- Shadow Parties
Shadow Parties is a Yemi Amodu directed and produced political drama film. Sola Sobowale, Magdalena Korpas, and Lucien Morgan star in this movie which was released on the 6th September 2021 on Netflix. The film’s topic is a communal clash between Aremu from Aje and Arike from Iludun, a place infamous for fratricidal warfare that killed Arike’s parents. The Iluduns, led by Arike’s brother Lowo, attacked Aje after Aremu’s kinsmen chose to burn his wife and kid alive, alleging she was an enemy.
- 2 Weeks In Lagos
Two Weeks in Lagos is a 2019 Nigerian comedy drama film directed by Kathryn Faseghaa and co-produced by Sarah Inya Lawal. Mawuli Gavor and Beverly Naya star, with Joke Silva, Jide Kosoko, Toyin Abraham, and Okey Uzoeshi supporting. The movie is about Ejikeme, an investment banker who comes back from the US to invest in Nigerian businesses and gets entangled in a relationship.
- Dear Affy
Samuel Olatunji is the brain behind this 2020 romantic comedy. With Toyin Abraham, Enyinna Nwigwe, Kehinde Bankole, and Odunlade Adekola, in this film, Bianca Udo made her cinematic acting debut. The film was released in theaters on Valentine’s Day, 2020, to mixed reviews. Before her wedding, a well-prepared, organized female art aficionado becomes pregnant, posing unexpected barriers and hardships. Due to the unexpected turn of events, she starts on a difficult expedition to find the unborn child’s father.
- This Lady Called Life
Bisola Aiyeola plays Aiye, a single mother who aspires to be a professional cook. Her four-year-old boy is alone, her mother has kicked her out, and she barely keeps her head above water. Tina Mba, Lota Chukwu, Wale Ojo, and Jemima Osunde also star. It’s all about Aiye for This Lady Called Life. And the way this film shows that is commendable. Characters in movies have been better written. But few films can hold your attention for two hours on one character like This Lady Called Life.
