Odunlade Adekola Denies Asking For Sex before Giving Movie Roles; Demands for Evidence
Famous Yoruba actor, Odunlade Adekola, has denied asking for sex from women before giving movie roles. Adekola challenged bloggers accusing him of sex-for-roles issues to publish their evidences. He said he has never demanded for sex from actress Eniola Ajao or any other ladies in the industry before asking them to feature in his movies.
The 42-year-old actor who began professional acting in 1996 said he worked hard to get to his current position in the industry. He said he would not fold his arms while some faceless bloggers drag his hard-earned name in the mud to gain attention. He challenged anyone to come out with evidences that he asked them for sex before giving them jobs.
“If I ever asked you for sex before giving you a job come out and say it,” he said. “I need proof that I asked anyone for sex before giving any movie role, I just had to come out and clear this because of young ones coming to the industry.”
In an Instagram video, Adekola said there is no point calling up those ignorant bloggers to clear his name. He said this would be tantamount to giving them free publicity. He said his distractors are only out to mislead his fans by tarnishing his name, adding that whoever sets out to bring him down will face the wrath of God.
“I wouldn’t call those blogs because I can’t give them publicity for free,” he stated. “I joined Nollywood in 1996 and I’ve been trying to build my name to this level and some people would try to ruin my image just to put food on their table.”
Several prominent colleagues in the Yoruba movie industry have stepped out to defend Adekola in the face of the social media allegations. Among these are Foluke Daramola, Jumoke Otedola, Salami Rotimi, and Laide Bakare among others.
“Who God has blessed, no man can curse!” Jumoke Otedola wrote. “Don’t stress sir. You are a shining star that can’t go dim. What about me that you have featured as a lead cast in many of your movies.”
