Nigeria has a lot of billionaires and millionaires. Hence, it’s not surprising to see gigantic and stupendously luxurious buildings across the country. However, do you know which houses are the most expensive? Find out in this article as I list out the most expensive houses in Nigeria in 2022:

  • Folorunsho Alakija’s Mansion

Billionaire business woman, Folorunsho Alakija, owns the most expensive house in Nigeria. This isn’t surprising as she’s the richest woman in Nigeria and among the top richest women in Africa. How did Folorunsho Alakija make her money? Well, as mentioned earlier, she’s a business woman. She’s currently the Managing Director of Rose of Sharon Group and vice chairman of Famfa Oil. Her mansion in Ikoyi is worth more than $700 million. Interestingly, not only is it the most expensive house in Nigeria, it’s also the most expensive in Sub-saharan Africa.

Aliko Dangote needs no introduction; if you don’t know him, then you’ve not been on earth for the past decade at least. Dangote is the richest man in Nigeria, the richest in Africa, and the richest black man in the world with a net worth close to $14 billion. Dangote’s mansion located in Abuja has an estimated N12 billion or $30 million worth. Note that Dangote has a lot of mansions and according to him, all his houses are in Nigeria; none abroad.

Mike Adenuga is the second richest man in Nigeria and the 5th richest man in Africa with a net worth of $6.7 billion. You already know him as the owner of Nigeria’s second most used mobile network, Globacom, aka Glo. Adenuga has a mansion in Banana Island in Lagos State that’s worth up to N8 billion or close to $20 million. While it may not be the most expensive house in Nigeria, it’s arguably the most sophisticated as the design is out of this world.

  • P-Square’s Squarevilla Mansion

Peter and Paul Okoye aka P’Square are Naira billionaires that need no introduction. Nigeria has been dancing to their tunes since the early 2000’s till date. With a career spanning over 20 years, it’s no surprise how much wealth the duo has. While Peter and Paul both own respective mansions, they co-own Squarevilla, a N500 million worth mansion in Omole Estate, Ikeja Lagos State. Have you seen P’Square Testimony video? Well, that’s not the Squarevilla I’m talking about. Following their split episodes, there were rumors that the twins put the mansion up for sale. So far, there’s been no update to confirm this.

  • Dino Melaye’s Mansion

Dino Melaye is one man that needs nobody to blow his trumpet; he’ll do it himself. Not long ago, the former senator flaunted his mansion online and no doubt, it’s one of the most expensive mansions in Nigeria. Everyone knows Dino as flamboyant politician so this wasn’t surprising. This mansion is located in his village in Kogi state. In the video, the narrator explains how mighty the house is with several buildings. You won’t expect such show of wealth from a politician as they don’t earn that much but, Dino’s money comes from a McDonald’s franchise he purchased before his venture into politics.

  • Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Mansion

Asiwaju of Lagos, Jagaban, former Governor of Lagos state, and a prospective 2023 Presidential Election candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu owns one of the most expensive houses in Nigeria. It’s unsure how much his house is worth but as the alleged richest politician in Nigeria, you won’t expect his residential home to be worth anything less than a billion Naira. You can find Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mansion at 26 Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi. Nigerians will hardly forget the 2019 elections when a bullion van was spotted leaving this same mansion. I keep money anywhere I want, and that’s all.

  • Linda Ikeji’s House

Linda Ikeji’s name should be at the top of any list of successful bloggers in Nigeria. She has made a lot of money as her residence is one of the most expensive in Nigeria. In October 2016, she bought an N600 million mansion with a whooping six bedrooms, two living rooms, a media room, and a cinema all included. Linda Ikeji has an estimated net worth of $40 million dollars so there’s no question how she could afford such a mansion. She posted the house on her blog herself when she bought it.

  • E-Money’s Mansion

E-Money’s mansion is worth about N250 million. It’s a 5-star mansion due to its stunning appearance and luxury architecture. He currently lives in the house with his wife and children. At the E-mansion Money’s there is a swimming pool and a gym, as well as three storeys with numerous ensuite bedrooms. It’s no secret that Ikeja, a posh district in Lagos, is home to a mix of rich homes and opulent apartments. Hence, Omole Estate, one of Ikeja’s more tranquil and affluent neighborhoods, is where the lavish mansion can be found.

Bottom Line

The houses listed above are worth hundreds of millions of dollars. They are the most expensive houses in Nigeria and I’m sure you’re familiar with most of the name of the owners.
