Mercy Aigbe Says Her New Husband, Adeoti Kazim, Is Entitled To Several Wives

Popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe said her new husband is a Muslim and therefore entitled to several wives. The actress who married Adeoti Kazim during a secret ceremony on New Year’s Eve hinted that her new husband remains married to his first wife but only relegated her to the position of second wife. And she cleared the air that Kazim is not friends with her former husband, Lanre Gentry.

“I spoke to her (Mercy) last night, she told me that the man is a Muslim, he’s entitled to more than one wife; so yes, he has issues with the first wife, and he is now married to her as the second wife and as a second wife, doesn’t she deserve to be happy?” said Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the host of Your View on TVC.

Aigbe clarified this after social media backlash that he stole a married man with kids and pushed out is first wife. A movie marketer with four children, marrying Aigbe is Kazim’s second marriage after his first marriage to Funsho, a fashion designer based in Minnesota. This is Aigbe’s third marriage after her second marriage to Gentry crashed. They were married in 2013 and the marriage produced a son before crashing in 2017. She has a daughter from her first marriage.

Aigbe, a 45-year-old Edo native who features prominently in Yoruba movies stated that Adeoti was never Gentry’s friend even though they had crossed paths at social events. She took offence at thousands of her fans who condemn her newest marriage, saying the derogatory messages they send her on social media is depressing and driving her nuts.

Having voiced that Adeoti is a Muslim who is entitled to many wives, Aigbe seems resigned to the fact that her husband can marry the third and fourth wives as allowed in Islam.
