Father Engages In Regular Sex with 16-Year-Old Daughter to Protect Her from Boys

Police authorities in Ogun State have arrested a 52-year-old laundry worker, Adebayo Akinrinoye, for sexually defiling his 16-year-old daughter over a two-year period. The victim said she resisted her father, but he kept on sleeping with her on the basis that it was better for him to teach her sex than to have boys in the streets do it to her.

According to the unnamed girl, Akinrinoye had been having sex with her since she was 14. She said she had lost count on the number of times her father made love to her, adding that he always forced her to do it when they were alone in the house. She stated that she couldn’t confide in her mother since she wouldn’t believe her.

“My father started having sex with me when I was 14-year-old,” the teenager revealed. “I resisted him but he told me he was teaching me in the right way. He said if he didn’t teach me, the boys outside would teach me. He did it whenever we were the only ones at home. I didn’t tell my mum because I thought she would not believe me. He had slept with me many times. I can’t count the number of times he had sex with me. He did it regularly.”

The victim’s mother reported the matter to a human rights agency in Ikotun, Lagos State, when she found her husband was sleeping with her daughter. She stated that she only became aware of the incident when she caught her husband in the act three months ago. She said Akinrinoye begged and swore to stop the lewd act. She stated that she was planning to relocate her children to Lagos when she caught her husband doing it again the second time.

So she reported the incident to the human rights group and they gave her a letter to the police station in their neighbourhood. According to the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the DPO of Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, deployed his men to arrest Akinrinoye and he was picked up at his Kabiru close, Idi-Oparun bus-stop residence in Matogun, Agbado area of the state.

Oyeyemi said the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, ordered that Akinrinoye be transferred to the Ota Area Command for investigation and prosecution.

“A 52-year-old man, Adebayo Akinrinoye, was on September 23, 2021 arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of his 16-year-old daughter,” the PPRO confirmed. “The suspect was arrested following a report via a petition brought to the Agbado Divisional Headquarters. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but pleaded for forgiveness from his daughter.”
